This fight has been long awaited.

What’s the reason behind the fight. There are so many fighters in the UFC and throughout the world who have different reasons to fight. Georges St-Pierre (GSP), a previous Welterweight title holder is scheduled to return to face Michael Bisping – moving up a weight class at UFC 217.
If you caught UFC 214 then you know -Tyrone Woodley was promised the comeback GSP fight if he won the title defense fight against Damien Maia. Well what happened after that came as a surprise to all fans. The GSP vs Woodley matchup was tossed by Dana White.
Woodley of course was shook from this broken promise – and it will be interesting to see what emerges from this.
Most recently, Woodley speaks his mind (on his Morning Wood Podcast) about the motives of GSP returning to fight. A superfight, among the handful that we are seeing right now – return of the greats – and unlikely matchups between boxing and mma. These events are taking in a lot of cash, a lot. Woodley states that GSP is back to cash in on the money being made from the super fights and not to take on the welterweights. Woodley respectfully stated that there’s no shame in that, but to just be real.
So what really is St-Pierre’s motives for returning to the cage? Money is made in superfights, as Mayweather and McGregor has proven in the professional boxing bout held on August 26, 2017.
